How I got started with Photography
Taking photos is one of the most stress relieving things to do. I was kind of leery about purchasing camera equipment for photography, because I didn’t want to waste my money. After thinking it over for a couple of days, I decided to go through with my ambitions and I purchased a camera and some equipment.
The first thing I purchased was my camera. I purchased the Canon Rebel EOS SL1 camera.
Initially, I didn’t know how to use the camera. After reading my camera manual and watching a Youtube video I was ready to roll. I purchased the camera with the body only. The Canon Rebel is very easy to handle and pretty light weight compared to other cameras. Since I only had a camera without a lens I knew I needed to purchase a lens so I could start shooting. While pondering what lens I should purchase, I decided to go on Youtube once again and see what lenses are best for beginners and best for my Canon Rebel EOS SL1 camera. I came across a Youtube video that mentioned the Canon 50mm lens, better known as the “Nifty Fifty.” After watching the video and doing some research on the lens, I decided to go ahead and purchase the Canon 50mm lens. It was one of the best decisions I made. The lens provides very clear and crisp photos. I recommend the camera and lens for all beginners who want to learn photography and get crisp looking photos.
My first photo shoot using my camera was pretty interesting. I used a friend of mine, Yawa to be my model. She has a women’s style and fashion website. Shooting with someone you know makes photography easy for a beginner, so I would suggest you use a friend or relative as one of your first models.
I decided to share some of my photos throughout this blog. These are the exact photos I took in my first beginner stages of photography. I took these photos with my Canon Rebel EOS SL1 camera, along with my Canon 50mm lens. Check the photos out below.
